Why fat quality, salt content, and protein supply were the decisive criteria for them – and how healmeal fulfills all three.
As a presenter, reporter, and model, I'm constantly traveling, so it's often a real challenge for me to quickly prepare healthy and delicious meals – even to-go or for meal prepping. For a long time, I couldn't find a product that I could truly integrate into my daily life permanently.
Until I discovered healmeal
What convinced me is not only the taste but, above all, the well-thought-out composition of the dishes. Especially as a health influencer, I pay close attention to ingredients and quality – and this is exactly where healmeal clearly stands out for me.
I find the fat quality particularly important. Extra virgin olive oil from Crete is used – and in my opinion, that makes a big difference. High-quality extra virgin olive oil contains so-called polyphenols, which are secondary plant compounds with antioxidant properties. These can help protect our cells from oxidative stress and play an important role in inflammatory processes and healthy aging. The quality of the oil is crucial: the right harvest time, gentle processing, and a high polyphenol content make the difference.
Another point that I find extremely positive: healmeal deliberately avoids unnecessarily high salt levels. And this is exactly a topic that I believe we should talk about much more. In Germany, many people consume significantly more salt than recommended. The WHO recommends a maximum of about five grams of salt per day – in reality, many people consume noticeably more. Especially in highly processed convenience products, there is often an unnecessary amount of salt, often at the expense of a truly balanced recipe. That's why I find it refreshing when a product deliberately thinks differently.
And as I always emphasize in my keynotes: We should take our protein intake much more seriously. The classic recommendation of 0.8 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight is often too low, in my opinion – especially for active people, women, people under stress, or with a sporty everyday life. Many current recommendations are rather in the range of about 1.4 to 1.6 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight to optimally support muscles, regeneration, performance, and healthy aging.
Most people only realize after doing the math how difficult it actually is to meaningfully achieve these amounts in everyday life – especially when on the go or during stressful periods. That's why I find protein-rich, balanced meals like those from Healmeal so valuable: They make healthy eating suitable for everyday life without having to constantly plan, prepare, or compromise on quality.
For me, it's clear: my freezer now always contains a small selection of healmeal dishes that I can truly recommend with all my heart. 🫶🏼
